Man is the family of God and his name name is to be upheld and respected by all members of the family.

“Remember, keep holy the Sabbath Day.” Exodus 20:8.
All of time is consecreated. Time is to be used to establish a creative rest.

“Anyone of any nation who respects God and does what is right is acceptable to God.” Acts 10:35.
The brotherhood of man is rooted in the justice of God.

June 3.

“Honor your father and your mother that you may have long life.” Exodus 20:12.
Mutual honor and respect within the family are the foundation of all society.

“In the beginning was the Word...and the Word was God.” John 1:1.
The orderly plan of the world about us is God speaking clearly.

June 4.

“Thou shall not kill.” Exodus 20:13.
Killers all: wreckless and drunken driving, violent sports, excessive food and drink, lack of proper rest.

“This life in the word of God is a light shining in the darkness.” John 1:4.
The whole balance of nature can be understood in the light of God’s plan.

June 5.
|
“Thou shalt not commit adultery.” Exodus 20:14.
Faithful love is the key to security, happiness and growth in the home.
|
“This light the darkness cannot overpower or withstand.” John 1:5.
The plan for the word of God will continue with or without man.

June 6.

“Thou shalt not steal” Exodus 20:15.
The right of private property for all is the basis of all free enterprise.
|
“I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.” Acts 9:5.
Note the identity of Jesus and his followers.

“Thou shalt not bear false witness against their neighbor.” Exodus 20:16.
The lie, once told, cannot be recalled. It travels from tongue to tongue to grow and do its harm.

“What god has made clean, you have no right to call profane.” Acts 10:15.
The laws of man have vital force only if they express the laws of God.

June 8.

“Thou shalt not covet they neighbor‘s wife.” Exodus 20:17.
Enjoy and learn to appreciate more and more what is yours.

“God has made it clear I must not call anyone profane or unclean.” Acts 10:28.
Christian self-respect demands that I respect everyone.

June 9.

“Thou shalt not covet they neighbor‘s good.” Exodus 20:17.
Work legitimately for what you need and want and do not waste effort on useless desires.

“Who am I to stand in the way of God?” Acts 11:17.
This question should be raised daily to check the value of our daily actions.

June 10.

“The Lord said: In those who are close to me I show holiness.” Leviticus 10:3.
Don’t talk about God...show his good qualities by the way in which you live. This is holiness.

“All that come to be had life in the Word of God.” John 1:4.
Ponder today all the plants that were mere seeds a few months ago.

June 11.

“Be holy because I the Lord your God am holy.” Leviticus 19:2.
This is the challenge of all true faith and religion: live a holy life, a life that manifests God.

“This Word of God was in the world, but the world knew it not.” John 1:10.
The wars of history show the blindness of men to God.

“Would that all the people of the Lord were prophets.” Numbers 11:29.
A prophet is a convinced person who lives and speaks his convictions.

“All who accept the Word of God become the children of God.” John 1:12.
The family of man is established in the word of God through true faith.

“The Lord is slow to anger and rich in kindness.” Numbers 14:18.
God is seen not as an irate and avenging judge but as a true father.

“The word was made flesh and dwelt among us.” John 1:14.
How comforting to know Jesus lived in our midst.

“The Lord forgives failures but lets nothing pass unnoticed.” Numbers 14:18.
It is human to fail at times but a person must learn from failure.

Generous people enrich themselves by helping others.

“The sight of the tassel on the hem of your clock will remind you of the commands of the Lord.” Numbers 15:39.
Every action of man must be governed by the conscience.

“Jesus turned and said: What do you want?” John 1:38.
To be helped by another, you must have a clear picture of your own goal.

“What nation has gods as near as the Lord our God when we call on him?” Deuteronomy 4:7.
God is not to be someone set at a distance but as near as your conscience within us.

Mary feels deep sympathy for the social plight of this young couple.

“For the Lord our God is a God of tender love and will not desert or harm you.” Deuteronomy 7:7.
God’s love is presented here as the closeness of a mother for the child she bore.

Jesus had not intended to launch his cruisade publicly at this time.

“The Lord God has chosen you because of love for you and fidelity to himself.” Deuteronomy 7:7.
God is not grasping, selfish, self-centered person like the idols.

“Whatever he tells you, do.” John 2:5.
Mary knew her son and knew he would take care of the problem.

June 19.
|
“The Lord protects his people, rears them, guards them, as the pupil of his eye.” Deuteronomy 32:10.
The message of the Christian God is first and foremost personal responsibility.

“You have kept the best wine until last.” John 2:10.
Generosity goes beyond what is asked or needed.
|
June 20.
|
“The Lord watches over his people like the eagle watching its nest, hovering over its young.” Deuteronomy 32:11.
The eagle protects its young fiercely but it also insists that the young learn all lessons.

“The only son of the Father full of grace and truth.” John 1:4.
Jesus could say ‘I and the Father are One’ because of his obedience.

June 21.

“Like the eagle, the Lord spreads his wings to hold and support his people.” Deuteronomy 32:11.
The eagle supports and helps but it demands the eaglet learn responsibility and self-help.
|
“The Lamb of God takes away the sin of the world.” John 1:29.
The selfish greed of the world is counteracted by the selfgiving of Jesus.

June 22.

“Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live.” Ruth 1:16.
A prize example of generous, loyal total love.
|
“Where do you live?” Matthew 5:48.
Jesus lives today in every person who lives by his own ideals.

“Your people will be my people, and your God my God.” Ruth 1:16.
The sincerity of love is gauged by the wholeness of the giving.

“Jesus let his glory be seen and his disciples began to believe him.” John 2:1.
Generous concern of others is the first step in the faith of a disciple.

“The Lord raises the lowly from the dust and gives them a place with the princes.” 1 Samuel 2:8.
True religion stresses the personal worth of each individual.

“Jesus made a whip out of some cord and drove the men out of the temple.” John 2:15.
Generous, meek, kind Jesus burns with anger at injustice.

“To the Lord the foundations of the universe belong.” 1 Samuel 2:8.
With all of modern technology many mysteries about the earth still remain.

“He was speaking of the sanctuary which was his body.” John 2:21.
The person of Jesus is the new living temple of which we become members.

“The boy, Samuel, grew up in the presence of the Lord.” 1 Samuel 2:21.
True education demands lifelong, tested and true values.

“Unless a man is born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3.
Being born from above means sincere ideals.

“The boy, Samuel, grew in stature and favor with God and men.” 1 Samuel 2:26.
Education is a steady growing in all ways at the same time.

“God so loved the world that he gave his only son.” John 3:10.
We know the love of God for us through the love of Jesus for us.

“Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.” 1 Samuel 3:10.
Man has two ears but one tongue which might indicate that he is to listen twice as much as he talks.

“God sent his only son into the world not to condemn but to save.” John 3:17.
Jesus was opposed to any negative view of life and action.

“If you respect and serve the Lord and obey his voice all will be well.” 1 Samuel 12:14.
The plan of God is based on human needs and goods and thus brings success and fulness.

“Give me a drink.” John 4:7.
Jesus uses the occasion of his thirst to invite a whole people to be saved.

“Obedience is better than sacrifice.” 1 Samuel 15:2.
Cooperation is possible only if each person does his allotted share.
|
“The water I shall give you will become a fountain inside him, giving eternal life.” John 4:14.
As water renews a wilting plant, so the ideals of Christ confer renewed life.
